From getting stuck on muddy forest trails to building the ultimate off-grid expedition truck. Mighty8wd was born out of a passion for boundless freedom, pure engineering, and honest stories without any frills.

Never have to rely on a tow truck again

For years, I converted tour buses into RVs. They were great on paved roads, but as soon as we turned onto a forest trail and the ground got soft, we’d get hopelessly stuck. I was sick and tired of having to call a tow truck every time. It was time for a change: complete independence.

When a friend shared a video of an M.A.N. KAT1 8x8, I knew right away what my goal was. Within two months, the chassis arrived in the Netherlands. While I waited, I sketched out every detail: a monstrous machine in which we could live self-sufficiently in the wilderness for months on end. After six weeks of hard work, this 8x8 monster became a reality.

Standard expedition vehicles often fall short when it comes to truly autonomous living. That’s why the Mighty8wd is heavily oversized. With two 3200AMP LiFePO4 battery banks, a 5000W Victron Quattro inverter, MPPT controllers, and a roof full of solar panels, we have all the comforts of home on board.

With watermakers for fresh, brackish, and saltwater, massive fuel tanks, twin turbochargers, reinforced drive shafts, and a rear lift for our electric cargo bike, we can tackle absolutely any terrain. We’ve even included a heavy-duty generator and extra winches.

Authentic Adventures and Upcoming Expeditions

Our baptism by fire has already taken us through Italy, Turkey, Russia, and the Baltic states, on to Mongolia, and back to Poland. In between hospital visits for our little daughter, we tinkered with the bike and fine-tuned it. Our next big dream trip? Heading for the sand and heat of Dubai.
